Book: Yes, I'd forgotten you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Got your next heist planned? Simon: No. But I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm sorry, sj. Did your doctor say something like "if you're still in pain after you take these call the office", because that's the kind of instruction I tend to forget about when I'm still in pain.

The hospital is supposed to call today to check in on me. So, I'll mention it then. I've taken three doses as scheduled so far, and it's starting to help. The biggest problem right now is when I have to stand up or sit back down. I think I use different muscles than most people do for this process because of my disability, and it hurts a lot. It's not that bad when I'm resting.

Oh, and congratulations, Scrappy! That's awesome!

Love and ~ma to anyone whose posts I missed and forgive me for the typos. The meds are making me a bit foggy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That kind of sucks, Gud, that work work is more relaxing than the weekend.

Agreed.

That also reminds me of the saddest parent-child interaction I heard the other week. The 4th-grade kid was like, Oh no, vacation is over -- I don't want to go back to school! And the parent said, "I know, honey, but it's state testing next week -- that should be more interesting?" This poor kid is so bored in school that testing is better! Yikes.

Congratulations, Scrappy!

My niece, who is in 3rd grade, has been telling me about state testing and how terrible it is, so double yikes.

In other news, who knew that typing out a list to bring to my boss would actually lead to checking things off it? HUH!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yay, Scrappy!

I declared today BBQ day in honor of the really good food truck opening up on weekdays now, and got take-out for several co-workers. I also managed to halt myself halfway through the meal so I can have leftovers with a salad for dinner as well—it'll be better and faster than what I was planning to cook at home tonight, and brings my per-meal cost down to $5.50, so a win on all counts. (Well, other than cardiovascular health...)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Nice, Matt! I would like to observe BBQ day.

Same. But I already took something different out of the freezer that I didn't eat last night, so I think I'm stuck.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Already signed up for three days work--one day proctoring SATs, one day filling in for the counselor at an elementary school, and one day filling in for a middle school history teacher. This should be interesting. None are at Aimee's school district, but one never knows what may be in store!
