I worked from home today and the kittens are so noisy and also dirty. good lord. I am concerned that two are not eating the wet food like the others so I got a bottle and cut the end of the nipple off and they are both taking the kitten formula stuff that way and then I was able to sneak in some of the wet food when they were chomping down. razor sharp teeth and claws are leaving marks all over my hands and forearms, maybe my neck also.

cleaned out the whole kennel again today and did another load of laundry. I am getting a tiny taste of what people dealt with for infants. NO THANK YOU.

Another thing I like about British Antiques Roadshow: the appraiser was presented with a box of toys that had been packed away when the owner, a 10-year-old boy, had been killed in the 30s. The appraiser audibly choked up and said she felt deeply uncomfortable about putting a value on the treasures of a dead little boy but he deserved not to be forgotten.

Aw, baby kitties. What a handful, how much nasty laundry to do.

The good part of raising kitties is that by six to eight weeks, they will be self feeding AND self cleaning.

I understand that tiny humans take a lot longer to reach those milestones.

Maybe it's been long enough since Ellie that I need another cat.

I was thinking earlier a friend was going to be going out and if I joined maybe I'd make it to dancing. Nope. She canceled and then I was on the couch and then it was 830 and I was putting my pjs on and preparing to read the new book I downloade, from bed. Dancing only started 8minutes ago. ...when did I get so old?

msbelle, one kitten is a bunch of work, but looking after a litter - you really are the nicest.

I'm going to have to look into the British Antiques Roadshow. Another bit of bonus customer service from TJ's last night. As I was shopping, I heard the manager talking with a woman with a young child. He was calling the kid by name so I'm assuming he knows them both either as frequent customers or outside of work. Anyway, as the customer was done I overheard the manager say something like "Hey, [kid name], I need your help. We have too many lollipops in the store. Would you take one of two to help us out?". So cute.

Bennett thanks- that confirms what I'm doing pretty much. I might do a supplementary bottle each night to all of them to see if we can get more calories in them.

She's a real advocate for fostering kittens, msbelle, and has a whole slew of how-to videos on things like socialize kittens, bathing them when necessary, dealing with health issues, etc. It's a good site to bookmark for future questions.

There's a guy outside in the apartment complex parking lot working on his car and listening to pleasant loud music on this beautiful day. I love it. I'm alone in my lovely little apartment listening to the world going about its business.
