Elsewhere a friend pointed out that it's a state investigation into Cohen now, so Trump can't even pardon him if it came to that. Heh heh.
is this true? I know it's been farmed out to the New York office, but I'd heard it was still the U.S. Attorney's office.
In other U.S. news, a couple of friends I went to uni with back in Canberra are now law professors at Chicago universities. Last week they had an article published in the Washington Post! [link]
It's about the increasing talkativeness of Supreme Court justices (except Clarence Thomas), and causes thereof.
One of them, Tonja Jacobi, has previously been published therein: [link]
This one was about the fact that women on the Supreme Court get interrupted far more often than men.
I spent the morning interviewing & brought her back to my office where we saw a rowhouse fire starting from my window. Came back from lunch and watched it engulf the other 7 or 8 houses. Looks like a total loss. But everyone & pets got out. I'd noticed before the interview that the house with roof damage from winds had finally got patched....likelihood that was the start of fire is high, as reports are it was caused by roofers. Needless to say, sobering.
Posting this here and on my fb page. A while back I started an Accountability Group on FB with several people here and the idea was to have a place to post on anything you need help being accountable for and to encourage the others. It's become basically inactive, but I thought I 'd ask if anyone here thinks it would be something they'd like to join before I just shut it down.
That fire is horrifying.
When you say "turned against", you mean you decided you don't like the second choice candidate?
Hours later, but yes, meara. Too many red flags.
I know it's been farmed out to the New York office, but I'd heard it was still the U.S. Attorney's office.
Yeah, it's still federal.
My guess is that Trump will fire Rosenstein and replace him with someone who will restrict the Muller investigation.
Trump can't directly fire Mueller, he has to get the Attorney General to do it.
The Whitehouse has been stating that the President does have the authority to fire Mueller directly.
