I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, man, my best friend from high school died suddenly over the weekend. We didn't stay close for various reasons, but that's a gut punch.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm so sorry, -t! ~ma to you and the family.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry, -t. This mortality thing basically blows.

sarameg, that was delightful to read. I am sure the family really did appreciate the outpouring of love and comfort. I get the whole not recognizing the 21 yo you. I barely remember that me. Still, it was very important making you who you are today, and the people are important too. I'm glad it was a good experience, although no doubt more than emotionally exhausting.

DH is off to a funeral this morning. We went together yesterday to the viewing, but one of us really has to work on a Monday morning. DH worked with Juan both at a bank and then brought him with him when he moved on to medical practice. The medical group paid for all the funeral expenses. They are really lovely people. Most of the bank people we hadn't seen in a decade. Good to see how many people loved him. He was sweet, funny, and flirtatious. 60 years old enjoying his large family and grandchildren, and gone.

Mortality, man. It sucks. My uncle had been trying to call my mother Saturday morning and not reaching her -- because she was at a funeral. Although as she said, when you know a lot of people through the Alzheimer's Association, there are a lot of funerals.
