this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have not had any recent memorable dreams.

I'm such a nerd that I had a dream about Infinity War -- all the Avengers were really annoyed that the Hulk can talk now, because he wouldn't shut up and it was driving them nuts.

Envy! Did you give him something shiny? Or edible?

Unfortunately I only had my phone and my keys on me, so when he hippity-hopped next to me, I was like, "What up, my good dude? You are a handsome bird."

How goes your Special Research?

I'm on 5/8 now. You?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

We had a very scary day today; about 7:30 am Dad's fever and heart rate suddenly spiked and the doctors thought he might be going into septic shock. After about half the people in the hospital crammed themselves into his room, and they rushed him down to the ICU for more aggressive treatment. He had a tube installed to drain his lung on an ongoing basis (it had filled back up), which seemed to provide some relief. He seemed to be feeling better late this afternoon and tonight, though he'll need to stay in the ICU for a while until they get his heart rate down and his BP up.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Yikes, Matt. Hope he improves very soon.

Oy, Matt. I hope things smooth out and he can go home soon.

Scrappy, your mom sounds marvelous.

I watched about half of the JCS broadcast, and was a bit disappointed in the cuts in some of the songs I know so well, but the singing is really very good.

Weirdness: I got home tonight at 9:30 PM to find an orange card on my front gate that says it's a Postal Service DOG WARNING CARD. Has my address hand-written on it. I'm like, WTF? It's a Sunday and there shouldn't have been a mail carrier around.

I admit that the dog barks a LOT at the mail carrier, and will jump at the security door if the door to the porch is open when the mail is delivered (which is only when I'm home and around the house). But she's never outside, and never has had the chance to do any more than startle someone when they come to the front step to deliver the mail.

So, what do I do?

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Scrappy, your mom sounds like an amazing woman. Thank you for sharing that.

This. Thank you.

Matt, continued ~ma to your father and you and yours.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh dear, Matt. I hope your dad, and the rest of you, were able to get some good rest. ICU is not conducive to rest at all.

Huh, Consuela. Maybe your usual mail person is on vacation or something. I'd at least write a note back with assurances, or perhaps stop by the post office with a note for your carrier.
