I'm working today, and as I pulled into the parking lot, the sun cleared the mountains, perfectly framed in a V. The birds were waking up and there was hardly any traffic noise. I stood there for a few minutes, remembering all the Easter Sunrise Services I went to as part of the church choir and thinking about how many people are out in fields and on hilltops this morning. I don't follow the teachings I was raised with any more, but it was very nice out there.

Lovely, Connie. I'm off to an early hike with my sister before we go to Easter mass. I have a starter in the bread machine and later will be making Italian whole wheat bread.
Looks like a nice day here.
Happy Easter to all the Buffistas who celebrate, and happy day before the chocolate goes on sale to everyone else!
Church here was great this morning, including the reception for choir and musicians between rehearsal and service that I coordinated. So that's good. And we get sponsors for the musicians, and my mom sponsored the trombone in my name! So nice!!
I got a chair & lamp from Ikea. And I just discovered Cocina Luchadoras is open until 4, so since I'm starving, I'm gonna go have tacos & sopes. And then I'll go for my Easter walk around Montebello.
How sweet!
I went for a 3 mile saunter with my folks yesterday up Mt Wanda (named for John Muir's eldest daughter (Mt Helen next door is for the younger daughter (I doubt either are technically mountains)) - lots of woodpeckers in evidence and a nice variety of wildflowers. Everything was so green and lush, water in the streams and pools even, hardly recognizable in that my mental image of the area is golden hills and scurrying into the next bit of shade. Then lunch and a "quick" trip to REI (I knew what I wanted and found it fairly quickly, my dad had to look at something in every department and try on a backpack pretty thoroughly) and by the time I got home I'd walked 4.8 miles per the Fitbit, so have been pretty lazy since. Really need to some yard work, though. That will definitely require outside pants.
Early church, then lunch with mom. Dad had to sing in second service, but mom had misunderstood and so our reservation was for earlier than he could make. Mac wouldn't join us. I stopped at Lowe's and got a new toilet seat for my bathroom. I am going to sit for a little while longer , then put away clothes, vacuum, put the new toilet seat on and then re-assess how I feel.
I've got a whole list of projects so I might do 1-2 more.
Bizarro dream last night. I was getting a dorm room & a cook-out together for some kind of extended reunion thing (I'm working on my college reunion, so this makes sense). Up comes Michael Cudlitz and Jesse Plemons who aside from not being even close to the same age, had both apparently been in school with me and I had been involved with one, maybe both of them at some point. In the dream they are who they are, so famous-y actors, but they had been on something together in the dream and had won an Emmy for it. Because that is how I greeted them, I hadn't known they were coming and it was a big surprise thing.
So weird. I've never found either of them attractive, so no idea why they were thrown in there. So many other celebrities could have been selected by my stupid brain.
I had a bizarre dream that my old college roommates were living next door to each other and I was so jealous and left out and they were trying to downplay it but I was like "why don't I live next to my friends??" I expect that was less about the roommates (Though they are still friends without me) and more about wanting my current friends to commune...

Happy Easter to all who celebrate it!
Speaking of the risen dead, I slept until nearly 3pm today.
Again. I'm beginning to worry about my sleep habits.
Continuing lung~ma for your dad, Matt! That's a fucking lot of fluid for one poor lung to carry. Glad he's feeling better!
Morphine doesn't get me high, but man, it stops pain like nothing else can.
