I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It is totally better to be the worst dancer on the planet (and there is some evidence that this is precicely what I am) than to be the best at sitting there unmoved by the music.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Awesome, Jesse!

Wheee, Laura! Wedding planning!

I have fully embraced the "dance like no one's watching" aphorism, even when performing. Don't tell my troupe.

Now sitting at a coffee shop trying some new-to-me thing that's basically a divided shit glass with hot espresso on one side and cold cream on the other that you drink all at once. I kinda like it, but I don't think I need to make it a habit. Off to saunter Mt Wanda soon.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet day here. After lunch Gary will take Mr. S on a Toys R Us and Carter's run while I try to see if I can use Bluetooth to play stuff from my iPAD on my car's stereo.(My car has no CD player, and I am going to be doing the drive to Toronto for FKO with Mr. S)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I haven't had a random night like that in years.

So great! Very serendipitous.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The NY Auto Show is usually during Passover, so DH goes to JAWS--the Jewish Auto Writers Seder at Katz's deli. This year he sat next to Jamie Kitman--who is an auto writer and the manager of They Might Be Giants. The fact that we are hug fans came up and Jamie said next time they come to Detroit, call me and I'll get you house seats. SWEET.

He gets home today from NYC and I am very much looking forward to it. Been a little tough this week with him gone and me ealing with planning my mom's service.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That is hard, Scrappy. At least Jason's absence is leading to future good times?

I feel like I've been running around all day, and it's true I left the house at 9:30 and just sat down now, after dying eggs and a carrot cake, but there was a massage in the middle there.

Making the eggs was a total cluster that included multiple raw eggs broken on the floor and multiple cracked eggs in the steamer, but I did end up with nine good ones. Phew.

Also, it's Anime Boston this weekend, and I walked by an amazing photoshoot. The person being photographed had an amazing outfit on, but so did the director (?), the photographer was in a wheelchair, and I'm pretty sure the other guy with a kid in a stroller was just passing by and stopped to look, but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Just back from the family birthday celebration of my teenaged cousin. At one point she noticed my hair and said "DANA'S SO COOL", which I'm sure is the first time that phrase has ever been said at that volume, non-sarcastically.

Our wings are not tired.

That is tough, Scrappy. I'm glad you get your DH back today.

We had a good wedding planning meeting. The woman hosting the reception (son & DIL's 2nd mom) is super crafty and had great ideas. She is also performing the ceremony. The other mom and I both are very capable at following directions, but not idea girls that way. The bride is more than a little country, and of course is in charge of the final decisions, so decorating is a rustic theme. Sunrise beach wedding, in sandals and July in Florida appropriate dress. She brought a couple pairs of boots for us to consider for the reception with the ability to dance and coordination with a bride type dress being the consideration.

Reception is in the evening outdoors, with the food and stuff under a tent and the tables and dance floor in an airplane hanger. They will move their planes out into the back yard. One side of the hanger is covered with shelves full of mechanic type stuff and we are going to cover that all with wood pallets decorated with sunflowers and LED candles and bringing in a bunch of bushy palm trees to soften the environment. They have used cooling machines and big fans out there before for summer parties and it works well even with being opened up. They have a car type lift in the hanger and we are going to raise the wheel platforms to appropriate height and cover them to be used as drink bars. All 3 of us will have sunflowers growing in our yards to be used for the table centerpieces, and the bride's bouquet.

So lots of good plans. Bobby even told me he was totally into doing a fun mother/son dance if I want to put together a plan. Hmmmmm. Tate figures it will be enough of a challenge to keep her dad from sobbing during the father/daughter dance. The best of times.
