I never went to a Seder growing up but have a number of times as an adult. The friend that usually hosts is in Vegas this year for Passover so not this year probably. It will be a good distraction for her because she just lost her mom a couple months ago and she was having a time thinking about her first one without her. We did Passover with her and she would come for Easter dinner with us.
The kids and DIL's parents coming to Easter dinner at my house this year. Just decided that today. Since it is so slow I shall share the menu.
Spicy Thai Soup - (bok choy, mushrooms, savory broth)
Noche Buena salad - lettuce/beets/oranges/jicama/apple/nuts
- Soy & Ginger glazed salmon -
vegetable stir-fried rice
#2 son will bring surprise adult beverages as he enjoys doing, and in-laws will bring dessert. #1 son will eat the fish, and maybe dessert. He is super picky. He'll eat fruit plain, but not in a salad looking setting. They both are super helpful and handy for the prep and cooking.
We're sedering for just us this year, which is a little small (we often celebrate with friends but they're out of town this year), but satisfying in a different way and MUCH less exhausting.
Happy fuck you slavery day to all, and a good easter weekend to you easterites as well!

Happy fuck you slavery day!
I took the dog for a long slow run in the woods, then got my brows tinted and bought a new shirt, and bought chicken for Easter dinner, and did a bunch of laundry. Now I'm lounging on the porch with some rose and a book. There are worse ways to spend a day off.
That sounds yum, Laura!
I'm sedering solo this year, which is not sound practice but it's all I can handle right now. If I can get myself together enough to have guests I will definitely invite you, Kate!
I'm doing a lamb and sweet potato sheet pan dinner (roasting the egg at the same time) and I splurged on paper Seder plates and made sure I have all the stuff to go on it, so it's pretty official. Considering reading this Haggadah [link]
Just about time to open the wine and preheat the oven. Happy fuck-you-slavery day everyone!
Ha! Happy fuck-you-slavery day!
Don't make fun of his baldness, he's got bears on call.
It's me waiting for Elijah.
I'm so not ready for guests, but if he does show up I'll just have to suck it up and deal.
Lots of love to all, celebrating or not, solo or gregariously.
