Happy Birthday, Allyson!
Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I chose to speak frankly and point out that the one thing he doesn't seem to excel at is keeping a job, so try just following instructions. Yes, my nice mom days are apparently over.
That seems like the best advice, nice or not nice!
Sweet, I just found out that our 9 hour days are actually going to be 9 hours long, not nine and a half like we were all assuming (our current 8 hour days are 8.5 because we are required to take a lunch even though we don't clock out) Everything's coming up -t.
That's amazing!
Good advice, Laura. Good luck to him.
I was coughing and sneezing when my boss came by to discuss the 9/80 thing so now I'm pretty much being sent home. Which I am fine with!
My toe is elevated and vaguely sore, which is a big improvement over OMG PAIN I DIE NOW. I can't wait to see what it looks like when I get to change the bandage later today. (I assume it will look like a toe that has seen some shit.)
No word back from the job.
Should he call after a week? He did not get a card from the interviewer to write a thank you note. Are thank you notes expected for fast food job interviews?
I wouldn't think a thank you note is normal in that situation.
His response of course was that he would have a better way because he is always the best wherever he works.
LOL sigh.
His response of course was that he would have a better way because he is always the best wherever he works.
Of course I sort of secretly think this about myself, but I usually wait years until I show it!
I don't mind his self-confidence in general, but seriously dude. His inability to recognize that people with way more experience might have a clue is a real handicap.
He has a tattoo on the inside of each wrist, live and learn. He does not have a clue that he has done neither. He will. Some day. Soon? I live in hope.
I have got the biggest cluster to try and de-tangle and fix today. Because one employee did not bother to check paperwork and another decided to "fix" it without contacting me. Error originated in one office, correction was made in another on their paperwork. Two different billing entities. Changing where the documents are generated changes the cost to the customer.
This is the type of thing that no one except me would know how to start fixing and their eyes glaze over when I talk about teaching them.
