Guess it's time for Bring a Chainsaw to Work Day.
I want to have one of those days...though since I work from home...maybe not. Work rumors are that the last round of RIFs are this week - yesterday/today. I've heard about a few folks that I don't know, but this is supposed to be the biggest of all the cuts. Then on the 28th we find out where we are going to be sorted in the big reorganization that is happening. I may have a new supervisor, though my old supervisor would finish out this year and handle my annual review. I have LOVED having my supervisor be someone I know and who I can go in the office to talk with as needed.
I've been trying to keep a positive attitude about all the work changes - systems, organization, supervisor, work shifting to Poland, and all the lay offs. But it is so hard. While it seems I'll make it through the lay offs, people I worked with are no gone and their work has pretty much dropped into a black hole.
Sorry - whining - I have a job. Full stop. Be happy about that.
Have a good vacation, Sparky1!
Yay Sparky, that sounds awesome! Have fun in chile!!
Yes, Jesse, I felt like it was a lot of blood pressure raised for nothing! They don't even have a timeline yet!
Tomorrow I am packing and doing things like clean out the fridge before we go to Chile, whoo-hoo!
Ooh, have the best time!

Naw, you can still whine about your job! (I mean, right?)
Cable guy supposed to come between 2-3. No cable guy. "Oh, he came and there was no response." Uh, bullshit.
I have been waking up at 3am every day for the last week. Like, up for the day at 3am. This means I am basically a toddler-style disaster by about dinnertime.
Casper, my very smart child, is currently rocking an F in math due to not doing homework, and a D in latin due to getting Ds on all her tests despite a weekly $40 an hour tutor. SIGH.
Oh, Casper. Really, it's easier to just do the work now. Sigh, indeed.
For this trip, we all had to go downtown to get K a new passport because we suddenly noticed she only had 5 months left on hers and six months is required to get on the plane. FTR, yes, you can get a whole new passport in 24 hours or less so long as you can get an appointment and your ass to one of the passport agency offices, of which, there are not many.
a last minute "quick meeting" that DOESN'T change anything significant? Feels like high blood pressure for no reason to me.
I'm not sure which is worse. Glad it's not ongoing stress, I guess?
HAPPY JILLI DAY I'm gonna change into my Cranky Pants when I get home in your honor.
Have fun, Sparky1!
Good luck with dealing with the reorg, Suzi. It's stressful for the people who don't get laid off, too, you are allowed to complain!
Oh, Casper.
Oh, crap, despite y'all seemingly reminding me every time I turn around I STILL have not renewed my passport. I think it expires in December. I'd better google what to do right now...
