"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

So sad to hear of Frankenbuddha's passing. I was hoping yesterday that it was all some horrible facebook mistake. RIP.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, Nora. That is a great remembrance.

In much lighter news, I just ordered these glasses, and I'm already having second thoughts! Luckily, they have a 30-day return policy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I like them! I wonder if the color is right for you. But I guess we'll know soon.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Back from our usual supermarket run. Passover starts in less than two weeks, and the selection of Passover goods in our regular supermarkets has been pretty paltry. We will be going to a kosher supermarket next Sunday for the the special items we usually get there, but it looks like we'll have to buy more there than usual. Which is annoying, since things are usually more expensive there.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm really surprised there isn't more of a supply. We have tons of kosher goods here at this time of year in the grocery stores, but it is very much a big tourist time too.

Thank you Nora for sharing your memories of Frank. I didn't spend enough time with him and it helps to hear more about his too short life.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hi folks, sorry to be mostly MIA these days

Thanks for checking back in about your dad, Steph. Aging parents always need tending. I'm glad things seem okay

And thanks everyone for having each others' backs, like when -t posts she has scary vertigo and several people pop in with a reasonable diagnosis. I love this place. No virtual space can compare to all y'all. Which gets then to Frankenbuddha. Sad to hear of his passing. Thank you Nora for that lovely tribute

RIP Frank. I never met him but it was always nice to see his electrons.

brillig

Are there multiple sizes of twin-size mattresses? I bought a twin-sized fitted sheets, and the fitted one is too big. The label just says Twin, but maybe they were expecting me to have a thicker mattress than I do.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I feel like a lot of sheets are too deep now, to accommodate the thick mattress/pillowtop phenomenon. It's annoying AF.
