Matilda's school had a big walkout, and she participated. She said about two-thirds of her English class walked out. (The teacher was very supportive.)
JZ posted a video of her old high school, the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts (SOTA) where the student protest was very movingly sung. ("You're not alone...") Theater kids to the rescue!
As a child of the 60s it impresses me beyond words to see the protest participation from these kids. See also, BLM, Dreamers, Women. I really thought for a long time that the spirit of revolt and protest was gone. I'm encouraged.
That's true. Whatever awfulness current politicians are dead set on inflicting on the country, it does seem that the younger generations are picking up the spirit of 60s and 70s social conscience.
Amy, yes, counts. Am having chicken pot pie right now aifg
I know it's the unpopular choice, but I love Logan on Gilmore Girls. And in my rewatch I'm on his first season and I love him so much. I want one.
Apparently my rapid decline into impostor syndrome and gloom today is related to the fact that my temperature is 100.1.
Also I am jealous of all your pies.
tourtiere (French-Canadian pork pie)
When you mentioned pork pie, I didn't realize you meant tourtiere.
Moving day is sunny and 50 degrees already. I wash my Rx Aleve down with coffee, gird my loins in paint-daubed sweats and don sensible closed-toe shoes.
Wish us moving-ma and me minimal shoulder pain! Woo hoo -- we're outta this place today!
