Timelies all!
Sigh...once again, I am without pie on Pi Day.
I plan to go claim my $3.14 pizza from Uncle Maddio's, then once I am sufficiently stuffed to resist buying concession stand food, go to see A Wrinkle in Time.
::shoves pie through series of tubes::
I had a quick burger so I could take meds without puking. But now I kinda want pie.
I forgot about Pi Day. But I did make chicken pot pie for dinner, so that counts, right?
Strix, you HAVE been working your ass off. Chilling out is good.
It's one of the issues where we have different views that I wonder if it will be a deal breaker at some point.
Tim and I don't agree on gun control. He's not a gun nut, but he stubbornly sticks to the position of "if guns are criminalized, only criminals will have guns." Lately we've been able to discuss it more productively than me screeching in frustration and him refusing to say anything, which is how gun control "discussions" usually go in our house.
My brother reportedly owns an AR-15. He's a cop, btw, and does take gun safety seriously, but still. What is he expecting, zombie hordes to attack in suburban NJ?
(I mean, if there was general insurrection, he's got the police department toys to rely on, like armored vehicles and body armor and so on. Plus, those rifles are darn expensive.)
I do think guns should be regulated at least as much as cars are. I don't see how that's not like, common sense. You have to have insurance, you have to pass a test. If someone gets hurt as a result of your use (or failure to manage it safely), you're liable.
Oh, and manufacturers are liable for defective products that result in injury.
And yet none of those ideas are considered acceptable to the NRA. I think most reasonable people would be okay with that, or I should hope so, but in this political environment I might as well wish for unicorns and chocolate fountains.
In weird genealogy news I feel uncomfortable posting on Facebook, my stepmother is the 3rd cousin once removed of (drumroll): Madonna.
Apparently Madonna's mother was French-Canadian.
It's raining heavily. The hibernating grass is starting to green up. The willow trees are looking a little fuzzy. But no daffodils yet.
