Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have not spent my way out of winter doldrums but I leave for Mexico tomorrow, so hope to leave doldrums behind!!

Such a good idea.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay! Sweet travels! Never been to Mexico, that should change.

I have consumed my breakfast and a couple cups of coffee and now and determined to not have my newspaper sit in the blue bag all week. I have already read the sports section, which I did first to pass it on to DH.

Oh, that reminds me of a cute memory. Dear MIL from 2nd marriage used to read the paper every morning and cut out every article she thought FIL would enjoy. Usually around 4-6 items. Since they were continued on multiple pages she would tape them together for ease of reading. She only cooked breakfast as they ate out every evening, and she gave him his reading material with his breakfast. She was not even remotely a warm woman, so I found this particularly adorable.

And now to the NYT.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Meara, safe and happy travels!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Safe travels, meara!

Ugh. Mr. S had a nightmare or something similar and woke up crying at 2 this morning. Gary ended up bringing him into our bed to calm him down, which worked...eventually. Then we got woken up at 8:30 by a tree service chipping up fallen branches. It needs to be done, I know, but at 8:30 on a Sunday morning?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I saw 8 bald eagles this morning! One of our local environmental orgs sponsors an "eagles and chili" event every year where you can join a group of experienced birders on a little tour of eagle-sighting spots in the area, and then at the end there's a chili potluck. Very cold, but lots of birds, and two of the folks brought telescopes so we could get some really good views. Eagles!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, very cool!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

No eagles, but I did see a hawk fly over the road with a stick in its beak -- I suspect this means nest building!

Nice! That reminds me, when my mom and I were driving to the 5k a couple weeks ago a raptor of some sort swooped lazily across the highway right in front of us. I was seriously concerned that we might hit it, but it knew what it was doing. Mom thought it was too big to be a red-tailed hawk, maybe a Golden Eagle. It was hella impressive from that angle, whatever it was.

Y'all, I have to whine. My right calf cramped up on me right before dance practice. I stretched it as best I could and limped through the routines and came home and put it on a heating pad and it still hurts way too much. Grumble.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I can't remember what I've just read enough to meara. I'm sprinkling congrats and love and hugs around on all of you.

-t, leg cramps suck. I hope you don't have to deal with that too much. My legs cramp at night now I think because of the new blood pressure medicine, which is working so I just eat a lot of bananas. seems to help.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, calf cramps super hurt.
