Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Oh Suzi that is a lot and all so awful. Why are people so awful?
I am at work and I have done work, but I am also watching a movie on my phone. Screw cleaning off my desk. It's friday and Oscar weekend and I feel exhausted and do not want to deal with people or work.
Suzi, I'm glad for the relief.
Jesse, maybe Mr. Man is finding working among the women kind of relaxing and supportive. We can live in hope, anyway.
Yay for not-falling-over -t!
All best luck for B, Laura--and for all the kids he'll influence in that job!
Aww, I'm all nostalgic for the days when we could get passionate over grammar and gerundifciation. These days? Too emotionally and intellectually exhausted to enjoy a good gerund-cilantro-muffaletta-salad shooter dustup.
Omg the kid I helped fill out voter registration last year is not registered. Either didn't mail it in or had some issue with it, we checked like 4 different addresses for him and cross checked by drivers license. Just did it again and then got into a little gun Debate with him.
Him "well it's complicated"
Me " of course it is complicated, most things are. Still, no other developed country has this issue on this level."
Him " we're more diverse"
Me "no, we're really not"
Him "it's cultural"
Me "yes, a lot of it is, but that has to change"
Him " those other countries are basically dictatorships"
Me ???? "Canada? Australia? England? Not dictatorships"
Him "England basically is, with the Queen"
Me ???!!!??!!? "She's not in power, you know that right? They have parliament and a prime minister"
Him "she owns all the land and really controls things"
Now I not sure I did the right thing getting him registered.
Suzi that would have stressed me out SO BAD. glad for you it's over!
Jesse, last night I was at a team dinner that was 10 women and one guy, but my part of the industry is pretty female-centric so he hadn't really noticed!
Oh Suzi, what a relief to have it behind you. People!!!
Now I not sure I did the right thing getting him registered.
Ha! Yeah, I understand. Just like many things in the land, you can vote whether you have a clue or not. See also, 2016.
Australia is totally a dictatorship.

Yeah, I don't know what this guy's old team was like, but our field is pretty female dominated, so maybe it's not a surprise. I'm just glad he seems happy and not shell-shocked.
I totally don't remember that. Which may be for the best.
I don't either. I think it was before my time. In fact, I don't even care or have an opinion on the topic!
huh.
Laura, good luck to DH on the head coach thing.
I got back my beloved JCPenney to manage and I'm familiarizing myself with the current status of orders and forecasts. Unfortunately, in all the moving of desks and computers and whatnot, I no longer have my personal excel macros where I had stashed all my little shortcuts and tools. I feel like Willow not doing magic - typing is so slow!
I just bought a whole bunch of Girl Genius back issues. The company that ships them out is called TopatoCo, and the signature line at the bottom of their email is "TopatoCo. We Are Too A Real Business." Of course, they also say "former Tiny House Demolition Company turned world famous digital-entertainment-related merchandise cyberstore and distributor!"
I'm just happy I'm getting lots and lots of stuff to read.
