I think gerunds might actually be before my time! Or I was an asshole.

The status is NOT quo.

Glad it worked out, Kat.

I have no idea what the gerund argument was, but I'm just going to let that lie. I don't have the bandwidth for kerfuffles anymore.

Yay pt job for Theo!

I'm a purist, you need trees. We don't have a hammock because currently we only have one suitable tree. Eventually the other palm tree will grow, at that time it can have a hammock.

It's cute that you think you get to make a decision about this.

I don't have the bandwidth for kerfuffles anymore.

I think that sums it up for a lot of us. But I didn't kerfuffle much, just ate the popcorn.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Good luck, Theodosia.

I've spent a couple days managing our company nurse's anxieties about dealing with a doctor who may or may not be an asshole but who for sure does not mesh well with our nurse. Also I think she has low-level ptsd over the death of a person in another house who died after a couple of days of respiratory distress that staff did not bother to chart about or seek medical attention. I keep having to reassure the nurse that in the case of the person I requested ~ma for, we have thorough documentation, numerous consultations with doctors, and proof that we are carrying out the instructions of those doctors plus other forms of care; even if we never succeed in getting to the bottom of this person's condition, that is for lack of trying. I may have to give her the "we are responsible for the methods we use; we are not responsible for the results," talk.

Connie, I'm pretty sure your phone will be involved, sorry. The way it works for me is, I let Lyft access my PayPal account. When I request a Lyft the payment for the ride is charged to PayPal. Then the phone shows me the driver coming to me, along with a photo of the driver and a description of their car. Once I'm at my destination I get a message from Lyft asking me to rate my driver and letting me tip them (if I want). The tip also comes out of PayPal.

Ann, that's a ferret.

So I got to work today (a little late, but only a few minutes because of Metro delays) -- just to find out that the government is closed today because of the high winds. I think I'll hang out for a while, relax over breakfast, submit my time sheet, and go home very early.

Off to check the bus schedule.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, the DC weather seems quite concerning today.

I don't have the bandwidth for kerfuffles anymore.

I never really did, but less so as time goes on.

So it looks like DH may seek the head coach position at the high school where he has been assisting. This past year has been a real mess with 3 completely different coaches giving the kids 3 completely different messages. Parents, kids, faculty, coaches, all on different pages. Season is over and the current head coach is probably moving to Parkland. He lives in that district and they have offered him the position, also he is about to be fired here and should get a jump on it. DH would take the job, but only with his own assistants so they could have a real cohesive program. If he seeks it he would likely get it. He has endorsements from key parents, as well as several other HS head coaches and principals. He can't seek the position until current dude resigns or gets fired, but he is accumulating his letters of recommendation. The only thing that he doesn't have current is his CPR stuff and there a day long certification course Saturday so he is doing that.

So, it is a big commitment, but he gets great satisfaction getting kids in college and mentoring in general. And it will be much less frustrating having control over stuff that made me crazy over this past season.
