For the folks who use mobility devices on the daily, how do you do it?

Yeah, practice has got to help with some things, but it can only get you so far. (Source: I once drove someone's electric scooter several blocks.)

I've done a lot of work the last week and a half, fixed a bunch of stuff, caught a bunch of mistakes, cleaned up a bunch of paperwork, and now I want time off from all of it, and life in general.

I'd like a sabbatical.

Hubs's sister had an electric scooter, which I moved around a few times. I needed a little practice, mostly to learn how to work the controls to get a speed between "full speed" and "full stop."

OMG yes. I have this issue when I have used store's electric scooter/shopping cart thing. Whiplash for the first half of the store and then I find the sweet spot.

How about a hammock strung between a tree and a fence post?

I'm a purist, you need trees. We don't have a hammock because currently we only have one suitable tree. Eventually the other palm tree will grow, at that time it can have a hammock.

I'm always so tempted to claim an injury so I can drive around the store.

Eh, they aren't that great. The first time I did laugh my butt off as I careened around the store. But they are frustrating, people don't make room, it is hard to reach things. And when you do have an injury - like you are on crutches, there is no great place to put the crutches. Let alone a knee scooter. "Luckily" for me, I can't drive so I'll always have someone with me to push the cart as I scoot around.

And yes, the problems I see are indicative of what others deal with daily.

What was our disagreement on gerunds?

Is an -ing ending required to be a gerund, or is it defined by the functional job it does in the sentence.

Yeah, I recall having Very Strong Feelings and being totally boggled at all of the wrongheadedness! -- so much so that I am also reluctant to open the discussion back up. Let us just assume I was totally right about everything, mmmkay?
