Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, this is funny: I went to the liquor store on the way home, and the guy looked at my ID and was like, "Aw, man!" I was like, "???" and he said he's feeling old, and then said he has grey hair! I was like, dude, I had grey hair. And then I tried to commiserate about how it's easier for a woman to dye her hair than a man.

brillig

The debate has shifted to Pro-bot vs. Robophobe, with a discussion of Elon Musk's belief that we're living in a simulation. Nerd co-workers are fun.

I've been getting texts from the Y all evening. "The pool will reopen @6". "The pool will reopen @7" 7:30, they gave up. Closed for the night.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I was off the computer most of the day. Dentist then mani/pedi. The whole off grid thing is getting real appealing.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Just checked with myself again. Still hate everything.

Am entertaining myself with tales of my five year old niece trying to bargain my sister on when she can wear eyeliner (!!!). She said "can I do it when I'm six?" And my sister said 13, and niece countered with 8! Hahahah!

And my bff's kid, who this weekend we filmed crawling (sort of--army crawl) and we set it to the chariots of fire soundtrack :)

Buffista Space Station. What I want is a Buffista Space Station

Was just talking about the fact that it's increasingly easy to launch a satellite if you are a civilian, so maybe we can put some sats in LEO and provide our own internet.

I also hope that folks with more skills than I have are working on a mesh network so that we don't have to use ISPs.

Indeed. Tonight is the night of pasta, and wine, and Haagen-Dasz. And The Great Irish Bake Off, which is not as good because no Sue or Mel. But the accents are lovely...
