Our wings are not tired.

Yes, having maintained a pool most of my adult life I often think a gym membership is a better deal! Except for having to wear a bathing suit.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hooray for Stately Strix Manor!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sitting in the con suite at Boskone. Saw Theo earlier.

It was sunny and blue skies this morning. It's snowing now. Almost 70 a couple days ago.

Woo hoo, Gus Kenworthy just came in 4th in the first qualifying run of the Men's Ski Slopestyle despite a broken thumb and bruised hip!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Woo hoo, Gus Kenworthy just came in 4th in the first qualifying run of the Men's Ski Slopestyle despite a broken thumb and bruised hip!

Is the hematoma on his hip? That sounds really painful.

Nick Goepper is from the part of southeastern Indiana that Greater Cincinnati claims as part of the tri-state area. So people around here are pretty excited about his slopestyle run.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I'm back from day-drinking! I haven't done that in a looooong time. Went on a wine and shopping crawl in a cute historic town square with my girlfriends; it wasn't warm, but it was sunny and 50, so pretty comfortable. I got a sparkly antique butterfly brooch for my coat lapel for $3.50 and we ended the day by stuffing our faces with enchiladas.

Dropped the deposit off with our new landlord before I went. Moving March 15!!

I am giving up the backyard pool, but am gaining $275/month, our community pool is nice, $180 for a family summer membership and still only a mile away and I will finally, after 10 years of genuine mourning for my decent bathtub-less existence, will finally have a proper deep bathtub for wet hot naked slounging. (Part-otter is a fair take!)

Bet your ass I'm buying some Lush bath bombs for use that first night post-move!!

I am so exasperated with my mother right now, I cannot. I know it's the memory anxiety, etc. But give me fucking flight dates you asked me to book , stop looking at flights you ASKED ME to book, stop booking lodging you asked ME to book. I have proposed, numerous times, the same plan. Agree or say no, not undecided, or I'm quitting this gig.

It'll all be fine in the end, and I was the patient one on the phone(screaming inside) while my dad hung up & went for a mad walk. We'll see if they're still mad tomorrow.

This is coping with aging parents. Mom's short term memory blips means she's more anxious as well as impulsive. And she forgets more when anxious, including the tasks she's offloaded TO BE LESS ANXIOUS. It's an ouroboros.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't mind getting the occasional invitation to screen pre-release movies, but this one does not look like something I would enjoy. [link]
