It's not unbreakable, but using encryption makes it more difficult for government/police to spy on its citizens. The theory is that if only people who need to hide use encryption on their phone, then people in power know exactly who to track. If we all start using encryption, then we make it more difficult for the government to snoop and find targets.

Considering the potential sea level increases coming, maybe it would be better to find a mountain retreat.

Oh man. I fee like even the things that make me laugh these days also make me wince. That and those Biden memes.

Rainbow knife, Matt? Nice.

Anyone else want to go to Mexico during the inauguration? There's a small part of me worried about being out of the country for it but also part that doesn't want to be anywhere near here.

This made me laugh so hard!

Congratulations, Callaluna. May you shake the dust off your feet and stride forth into a shiny new life. (Sorry America just peed all over the couch cushions, though...)

Good luck with the biopsy, Consuela.

Good luck, Consuela!

Anyone have ideas what I should get for my Trump-voting dad for Christmas? I want to buy him a bunch of books and make him read them but I know if he did that to me and gave me a bunch of catholic shit I'd be pissy. But ugh.

(Thankfully my brother is not coming home for Christmas this year, I don't think I can face him)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, probably don't pay for a trans person's new passport in his name, huh?

So, the headline here says "read the book that's not for you," but really they mean "read the book that's not about you," right? I mean, the book about the Tea Party people sounds like it's actually for me. [link]

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Heh, I thought that's probably who you were.
