My mom had some donor skin grafted onto her tongue. I should've told her to use that excuse to say whatever she wanted to.
Friend got x-rays shortly after my last post which showed a gnarly dislocation but not major breakage so they were able to put it back in place give him a thumb shaped thumb again. It was an "open fracture" though, so stitches and a ridiculously large bandage wrap. After getting him home and feeding my cats I crawled into bed around 6am. So that was a 23 hour day.
In random news, D is kinda obsessed with goats, so I just ordered a stuffed goat for him from You've Goat Mail for V-Day and I CANNOT WAIT till he gets it!
I really wish they'd had a black one, because he was reeeealllly into Black Philip from "The Witch."
You've Goat Mail is the funniest thing I've heard all day!
I have just figured out why I'm having trouble finding a sauna to go sit in -- they are in gyms! And I don't go to the gym. There's apparently one fancy spa with all the accouterments (on public transportation), and it's super expensive, but still cheaper than an actual vacation, so...maybe?
A big part of why I joined a gym = the steam room.
Does Boston not have a shvitz or banya you could go to? (Or is it just that they're all full of creepy old Jewish/Russian men, as the ones in Brooklyn tend to be.)
There is a mobile sauna that will drive to your house!
Well, looks like I am going to be a substitute teacher! You won't believe how bad the pay is--$12 per hour. Luckily, the DH is going to pick up the slack with his writing so we should be okay. I'm very excited--I've missed teaching a lot.
That's great, Scrappy! Although you're right, the pay is awful.

Not conveniently. On the other hand, the opportunity to go to Dillon's Russian Bath might be worth it.
And actually, looking for Russian baths turned up some new possibilities....
STOP IT, EVIL HAND!
Yes! Except, not fun.
Congrats, Scrappy! (Unfortunately, I can totally believe how bad the pay is, sorry. My sister subbed in MI for a while, over near Pontiac.) I hope you have some great classroom experiences.
It is the ultimate fate of all Buffistas to move to Michigan and become teachers.
