We've had a few home improvement projects done recently. By which I mean, we hired someone to do them. (Gary knows his limits.)
Actually, about an hour into what should have been a 20-minute project, he invariably says "There is NOTHING I can't make more complicated." Because in his quest to optimize things, it takes about 5 times longer than it should. Honestly, for any given project I try to think of how long it could *possibly* take if the slowest person in the world were doing it, and then I triple that estimate...and I'm still usually wrong. It boggles my mind.
Apparently, we (northern Illinois) are expecting another 3-5 (or was that 1-3?) inches of snow tonight.
And I left home without gloves. . . I was running a little late and didn't have time to go back and search for them.
I hope I can get a ride home tonight.
Bright side? I got a book that just came out held for me.
Love the perqs.
However, the thing is fixed, the hot water is now consistent, and no one got hurt.
That's what really counts.
I suspect I have some mild depression after the catastrophes of the last few years. It's not bad, but every once in a while I just don't wanna.
As I'm sure you already know, this is a real thing that happens. I am just coming to other side of it all, but for several years I felt like I was just chugging along and couldn't really work or do things at my normal pace. Please be kind and gentle with yourself. Don't beat yourself up

I am at the point where I am too overwhelmed to get anything done, and it's a real problem.

I've been at the opposite end of the scale most of the past week. I worked ahead proactively on something I hadn't yet been asked to do to avoid resorting to filing instead.
