I've encountered rapant hatred of Sanders supporters. Don't know the particular thread you are talking about, but I've heard lots of people talking about how the fault for the Clinton defeat lies with the "hard left".
As to rapant Misogny, don't deny it. Don't see how anyone lacking it could vote for Trump. But doesn't mean it could not have been overcome by a different candidate. This election was lost in turnout. While nobody knows for sure what would have happened to a different candidate, the HRC campaign did an awful job of turnout. The Black community was supposed to be one of her special strengths compared to Sanders, yet she was unable to turn out the Black vote. Maybe giving how large a portion of the Black population are working class, middle class or poor, her weakness on class issues dampened enthusiasm among the Black general population in a way it did not among primary voters. As to Bernie being "destroyed" the same way Clinton was - not as much opportunity for last minute surprises.Sanders' radical past is out there on the public record, and proudly owned by him. Even if the big guns had tried to save things for the last minute, smaller right wing bloggers would have fired all the ammunition available within weeks of his nomination. He would have had one thing Clinton did not have - plenty of time to deal with the shitwave.
Typo, just please don't. Not right now. Please.
I think that social media can be used as a great tool to connect people locally. (for me, fb more than twitter). Like the event I went to tonight, a presentation by the police Citizen Advisory Board at a local coffee shop, I wouldn't have known about except through fb.
OK, or at least not here.
t edit
I'm sorry. I'm frustrated and angry, and I didn't mean to snap.
But honestly, a lot of us are angry and scared and, I'm pretty sure, would like to not jump into the partisan finger-pointing when it hasn't even been a week since the election.
Typo Boy I'm interested in hearing more of what you have to sat if you want to email me.
Hi Askey, I'll do a blog post, email you when done.
If you want to know why not now? You actually say it in your opening. And then you jump right into the same ugliness you're supposedly decrying.
On the other hand when people are scared for their lives, also not the time to post how your candidate (who lost) had rainbows coming out of her ass, and the fault lies with everyone except her and her campaign. And yeah she won the popular vote, but that she was competing in an electoral college that gave the victory to Bush when Gore won the popular votes was not a giant secret. In short when the reaction to a Trump victoryis a five minute hate of Sanders supporters (who mostly votred for ?Clinton) then yeah, people are going to start telling you what your candidate did wrong.
