Holy shit, you guys. Jess, Kat, I'm thinking appropriate, useless, supportive thoughts at you. Know you are loved. And have pissy comments mentally at the ready, as needed.
I'm still reading damned resumes and digesting this [link] as we lure the youths here and just set everything on fire, okay?
I wish I could make people's lives easier and see everyone instead of having to work.
I don't want to say anything on FB till we've signed the contract, but...I think we have a house! Unless something goes horribly awry. (Knock wood)
It's in an utterly fantastic location, a block and a half from a small park with a nice public pool that costs $80 a summer for a family membership. Excellent school district, just in case. Includes a washer/dryer so we will NOT have to replace the washer ruined in the basement glood that our current Shitlord refuses to fix or replace, and our current dryer is 30 years old and takes 4 hours to dry anything, no hyperbole.
Hardwoods! Awesome screened-in front porch! Cute, fully fenced backyard! NEW appliances, and the fridge is kinda fancy! Built in bookcase!!!! Lots if basement storage! And it's $50 less than our current place.
Oh, lord, I can't wait to delete all these househunting apps and emails from my phone!
Ugh Jessica & Kat that's a lot of shit
Hairpats, hugs, and/or whatever signs of warmth are wanted, Jessica and Kat. What a tough time you both have right now. I'm sorry.
Sophia, I am glad that your dental nightmare was more of a night-miniature pony.
Yay, strix!
Contract~ma, Strix! Sounds like a lovely home.
Awesome news, Strix! I have never underestimated the value of convenient and fully functional laundry equipment! The best setup I ever had was in the rental we had with 2 side by side sets of stacked washers and dryers. They weren't big, but double! It was perfect for proper sorting, or when the kids leave their stuff in the machine. I hope to have that setup again some day!
Aargh. Tooth still hurts, but not as bad. I go in Monday for an exam, and root canal sometime after that. The dentist kind of told me I shouldn't have pain after the procedure, but the dental nurse on the phone said I shouldn't worry. I have a vision of my whole jaw becoming infected over the weekend. It is way less pain today, though- certainly noticeable but not excruciating.
