Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry, Jess. So much, all at once. What Kat said about someone else taking the kids. That might help.

{{Kat}} Way too much.

Universe, try and be a bit better about spacing this awfulness out, or just don't.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Condolences, Jessica, on your grandmother's passing. I'm sorry about missing eaglefest, and about your employer's questionable judgement. Wishing you best of luck on the new job and grad school.

Kat, wish I had a big metaphorical sword to give you to face that gorgon. May all be less formidable than it seems from here.

meara, I can't ever do cough drops as I'm violently allergic to menthol and eucalyptus. Our local Haggen has a wall o' candy, where I find lemon drops tart enough that they help with sore throats and coughs, at least a little bit.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Is there a way for your kids to go to Eaglefest without you and Ethan? Could someone else take them?

The funeral is in a different state, and we don't have any close local friends because we suck at meeting people.

If I look at this weekend straight on, I feel like I'm facing a gorgon.

That is a lot. I hope Grace gives you a break, at least!

Because books.

Yikes, Kat, that's an awful lot of Not Good Things. I have no real advice, except to maybe meditate/drink heavily over the weekend, and hope Grace is feeling better when you get back?

Mentho-lyptus makes me sick to my stomach as well. I find Wild Cherry Lifesavers soothe my throat a bit.

Kat, mucho-ma, in all it's many & varied forms, to deal with that crapton of stuff you're dealing with.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am so sorry Jessica That is a lot

It is also a lot for Kat. I was mad on your behalf about the obit, but didn't want to say something in a public lost that your family might be on.

I had emergency dental work today because one of my teeth fell apart. The dental urgent care was pretty great. I got the clean out the infection and put in a temp filling which was free. I have to call general dentistry to host a root canal and crown. We get a 10% discount at the dental center or the faculty group, plus insurance pAys 80% so hopefully this won't be too bad.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My condolences, Jessica. Even when they're in their 90s and lived a good life before passing, it doesn't make the ache of missing them any less.
