"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Two great songs in it, too. And Joshua Sasse bagged a pop star fiancee out of the "Off with His Shirt" number!

Punishingly Intricate

I know there are teachers here and am wondering if I might do anything here. A friend of S's in school (actually his BFF) is a behavior issue in class. He is a 7YO black male in 1st grade. The way they are handling it seems cruel to me and it is not making the situation better. They punish him by excluding him from events when he misbehaves (there was a Fun Run recently and this child wasn't there - missed it due to behavior issues)

Not a teacher, or a parent, but that punishment seems like it wouldn't be productive to me either. I do have several friends who are teachers of kids that age and I could pose your question to them as a hypothetical. If you wanted me to.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Wow, Sasse is only 28? He looks way older than 28.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Here's a little bit of goodness: I called our small town's Diversity Coalition to see if they needed any volunteers. The woman I talked with said she'd had so many calls from people asking the same thing, she was bringing it at the board meeting later in the week. She took my number so she could call back when she had something. It made me tear up just a bit. People are stepping up.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That's lovely, Andi. Thanks for sharing it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats, Callaluna.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thanks, Andi, that's good to hear.

information libertarian

I am so tired of life being so uncertain. I interviewed for that job September 12 and still have not heard. And now we have to worry about mr. flea losing his job due to the EPA being abolished.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

On the other hand when people are scared for their lives, also not the time to post how your candidate (who lost) had rainbows coming out of her ass, and the fault lies with everyone except her and her campaign. And yeah she won the popular vote, but that she was competing in an electoral college that gave the victory to Bush when Gore won the popular votes was not a giant secret. In short when the reaction to a Trump victoryis a five minute hate of Sanders supporters (who mostly votred for ?Clinton) then yeah, people are going to start telling you what your candidate did wrong.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Typo, please do not characterize what happened in that thread as a "hate of Sanders supporters," nor try to explain away the rampant misogyny exhibited throughout this election cycle. Sanders would have been destroyed as well.

I've noticed no one in here stating that HRC ran the perfect campaign. It's obvious that she didn't.
