sj, I think that is entirely my issue - not having the energy to try to teach people who have no interest in learning. Thank you for putting it into words.

I didn't know Gwen Ifill was ill either. Oh no.
So Twitter says that Gingrich is out for Secretary of State. Yay, except apparently now it's going to be John Bolton? I'm having too many feelings at once.
I see that she went on leave in May. So sad.
ALso, I have to thank Steph for her facebook link to the little kitten called "Squee"! Squee is very calming.
Oh, no, Glam, that's awful. I'm so sorry. That is so disappointing.
You, too, Allyson. Keep on breathing if that's all you can do. Get through this 5 minutes.
I am so shocked and sad over Gwen Ifill. I got the headline from the NY Times on my phone when I was in a meeting and I just burst out with "Oh no!" and then no one knew who she was. These are not Trump voters, though, just not PBS watchers, I guess.
Yay, Calli!
I totally need to donate to the SPLC.
I donated to the Environmental Defense Fund today, and my acknowledgement email said someone had matched it 2-for-1. Which was unexpected, but nice!

Squee is unreasonably cute. (This is my nun friend who fosters kittens, in addition to having 3 cats of her own. She's also an Army veteran -- she was in the Army before she became a nun. I think she must have the most fascinating stories about her life. Also, she loves Hello Kitty.)
lisah, jump in please, if you can.
I can't right now but I'll try to put a coherent thought together and jump in later.
