Hey, preaching to the choir. I thought our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked right through that door and right into my ass—which is where my heart is…physiologically. I could show you an x-ray.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

After a (nother) half-day retreat, guess what? Still too many things to do and too little motivation to do any of them! 72 unread emails, most of which are requests for me to do work.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also four meetings, but luckily two were both short and on the phone. So I have had time to catch up on the internet.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

The problem with Zappos is that I don't have the time to get to the post office to send back stuff that doesn't fit.

All you have to do is drop it off at a UPS pick up. I drop it off in the mail room at work - easy. I am obsessed with Zappos.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Pro tip: closing the previous year on the same day as the holiday party when the office will be locked at 4pm and everyone has to be out by then is not a good way to reduce stress.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Long weekend here. No particular plans, aside from trying to keep Mr. S from causing too much chaos. (I know, good luck with that.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Reasons to lock the door: my mother's dinner guests just walked into my apartment. Good times.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

wilting some kale in beer and mmmm it smells so good. not sure if the flavor will actually come through, so I put the roasted beets in the ban while there is still some liquid and maybe the will soak up some of the flavor.

This will be wilted kale, with the roasted beets cut up, all tossed with some feta and a vinaigrette with some capers thrown in.

Coding and Sleeping

My work software - the software I do all my work on - not only works only in IE, it only works in an OLDER VERSION of IE.

I am so sorry.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The experimental pear and bergamot marmalade crumble is about to come out of the oven. Wish us luck.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Dinner tonight was interesting, I ate alligator for the first time in years (decent, but the crawfish etoufee I'd intended to order would have been better) and sat next to a bunch of Australians who'd traveled here on a job and were excited to order blackened chicken. Chicken's not an unusual food in Australia, is it?
