All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

I stayed home sick to avoid spreading the contagion, which was a good call because even though I'm feeling a little better, I'm still sneezing and filled with phlegm.

I did finish a library book and called my optometrist to order more contact lenses.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have spent a good chunk of the day moving stuff out of the upstairs bathroom, which is going to be completely redone starting tomorrow. As part of the redo, they are also pulling down the old chimney, which nothing vents through anymore. This will open up the kitchen, as it currently goes through the middle of the counter which they built around it. Upstairs, it was drywalled around, and getting rid of it will give us more closet space. On the roof, it's in such bad shape that bricks are starting to fall out of it, for realz, so it should be easy to demo.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Scrappy, that sounds lovely. I wish my old house had an open kitchen, but there's no way to make that happen.

So, travel is starting off fairly rapidly for 2018. Pittsburgh next Tuesday and Cleveland next Wednesday, then Delray Beach at the end of the month, Vegas in February, Cancun in March (assuming I didn't get knocked out of the top 10 performers for the year), Anaheim in April, and Nashville in May. That's not including any last minute trips. And there will be. There is a reason I don't unpack my suitcase anymore.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Cancun in March (assuming I didn't get knocked out of the top 10 performers for the year)

Ooh, nice!

I suppose we should figure out a plan...

Ooh, nice!

This is the first time the company is doing a "reward" trip. All expenses paid, including for SOs. Hopefully it won't be the last.

That's exciting Maria! I'm still trying to figure out when I can go to Mexico and with who. Two friends want to go but one is only free a specific week (when her kid is out of school and could stay with the grandparents) and the other had a work trip assigned that same week, so will be out of the country. Can't decide which to work with—the one friend id have more fun with but the timing of her week is really bad for me (I have tickets to a thing in dc the first weekend so it would have to be like Tuesday-Sunday)

I'm not doing nearly the level of travel I used to years ago, but I did do enough in 2017 that I actually made the first tier of FF status. I suspect there will be a little bit more this year, but we shall see.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Too cold for my taste here, though I guess I should be thankful it's above 0 F. It does not help when the two rooms I spend the most time in at work are poorly heated.(The Blood Core room was 54 F when the first person got there this morning, and they were boiling water on a hot plate to warm things up.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Next time I try to buy clothes for someone for a Christmas present, I'm just going to buy all available sizes, and they can just return the ones they don't want. Or burn them, whatever.
