I've seen discussion of this in a couple of places, and I thought it might be fun/cathartic to discuss. What particularly parental things did your parents do to you this holiday season?
My mother told me she liked the shirt I got her, but it was too big, and then repeated it four different ways that it was too big, and she didn't wear that size anymore, and when she put it on, my dad said it was too big. I realize maybe it was a sore spot, but Jesus. This is why I don't buy clothes.
My MIL told my husband he needed to lose weight and have better portion control, and then dumped all of the leftovers on his plate so he would eat them and they would be gone.
I hope you got the librarians right, or you will never hear the end of it from me!
I now fervently hope so too.
Lol, Dana. I was told my sister is the good daughter? But that's ok because that means they plan to go live near her even though she moved out of town, and not me!
I have made Chex mix, and have cookie dough in the fridge for molasses cookies. Also dyeing my hair.

Being of an age, I have to change it to what parental thing I did to my kids. Every year since forever I get the boys socks and undies for Christmas. I did so again this year and they were delighted, and all even put their holiday themed socks on immediately. It was the first year I didn't get undies though. Instead I got inside pants for the boys and a night shirt for the girl. (I may get them undies for their birthdays instead)
2017 decided to screw things up on more time. I got off of work Friday afternoon nd had Sat off, was supposed to work 1 to 5 today and have tomorrow off. I went down to M's Friday night. Drove up for work today and found out someone called out so i needed to stay until 6. It was slammed. Everyone returning , including someone wjp returned a bunch of kids clothes that reeked of smoke. I was told to take them back.
Around 5:30 customers started talkong about the freezing rain and sleet. So instead of driving down the mountain bacl to M's I'm staying at home.
Our big NYE plan was watch Brooklyn 99 (we just watched last years halloween episode) l and drink sparkling grape juice. So noting fancy but still would have been nice.
We're unexpectedly New Year's Eve-ing at the most absurdly establishment joint ever, and trying not to laugh too loud at the fact that they have a cocktail called the Bolshevik Revolution.
At any rate, the other drinks are excellent, and hey, free night at a swanky hotel/golf club (I said establishment, no?)
We *never* go out for NYE. I fully expect to be in bed at 10.
We won't be going out, and poor dog is already being subjected to the fireworks. I'll stay up until midnight though. Because.
I was invited to a party, but I am a feeling a little off today, so I bailed early. Now my friends messaged me to say that they are bailing on it too, so I don't feel too bad about not going out. It's cold and most people I know are hunkering down at home.
My almost 90 y.o. parents seem to be out.
