It should be noted that I am financially irresponsible which is why I am in this place. See post yesterday of $30 spent on unnecessary things. I might take things back tomorrow. I've put taxes on my credit card the last 2 years which is part of my thousands of $$ in debt ongoing issue. The parents know nothing of that.

You are not alone. I am completely financially irresponsible. Always have been. That was why I was so impressed with the kids holding off on buying the house because they wanted to build up their savings. I was like, savings, what that?

The worst part is the tons of money being irresponsible has cost me. Yet, still not really changing my ways.

That said, msbelle, I think you are doing an incredible job. I can't even imagine trying to navigate it all without the support of DH and my family. It ain't easy for the 99.8%.

The last few days I've been pretty dang lazy...enjoying vacation with zero agenda. My body was finally not hurting and I was beginning to think that my aches and pains were more mental than anything. Then I went out for a big grocery shop trip. My foot hurts and my back hurts. I'm on the couch with a heating pad and an alcoholic drink. As CJ put it "Mom, there is a reason you are having surgery in Feb". Yeah. There is.

This has been a very long day and I am tired.

I have my mortgage holder pay my property taxes for me, which works out pretty well except my monthly escrow payment keeps going up. Sucks. I used to be very financially responsible but nsm lately. I am trying to turn over a new leaf and get back to my penny pinching ways, we'll see how that goes.

OMG! My tiny little Billy the Kitten Neko Atsume figure has a tiny, tiny little butt hole molded into him! No, I didn't go looking for it, he fell over and I wondered what that itty bitty X was under his tail. I was going to take a picture to share with you all, but I couldn't bring myself to point a camera at the butt-end of a tiny plastic cat.

Some good news for Gizmo, I spoke to the vet yesterday and the plan is to reattach his lip to his lower jaw (in its correct position) again now that he's grown some connective tissue on top of the bone. So with luck he won't be disfigured or have a pocket of skin on the underside of his jaw that has to be flushed out as I'd feared.

Also good news for me, the vet said they weren't going to be charging me further boarding fees during Gizmo's recovery, and were going to reassess his medical bills to bring the price down some. I think the little fella has been earning his keep by charming everyone at the pet hospital and getting a discount.

So our governor issued an executive order allowing people to pre-pay their 2018 property taxes and avoid hitting the new $10k limit on property tax deductions, which would be great if (a) local tax collection agencies had any idea how to invoice 2018 property taxes in 2017 or (b) the IRS knew how the hell the new tax bill is even supposed to work.

(Or (c) my property taxes are paid into an escrow account as part of my monthly mortgage bill, so I don't even know how pre-paying them would help?)
