For us, today is Dominic's 15th(!!!) birthday.

And the last chance to brave the crowds and get the cheese and garbage bags we discovered we were out of at 10 last night.

Garbage bags are kinda important for Xmas festivities.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy and easy holidays, everyone.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think I've done everything, up to and including packing.

I am packed and mostly left the house clean for when the roommate returns. Didn't manage to take out the trash though. My bags are utterly full, but a fair chunk of my suitcase is presents, so should be ok for getting home

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Tiny, selfish, mini-rant:

I do not like it here. It's too dry, and my nose is bleeding, and my throat is constantly sore, and the elevation is too high, and I'm dizzy, and I can't stop thinking about how these rich people took over this town and now bitch about the Indians building casinos and ruining their pristine views and I miss my bed and my in-laws are stressful and the price I pay for watching football today is going to be answering stupid questions for three hours.

Also, I might be getting a cold.

Going to the high, arid regions is a heck of an adjustment, it took a couple of months for me to adapt. The first time I went back east after several years in Utah, I was amazed at how much air there was. I understood why elevation makes such a difference to athletes. Nowadays, as I get older, I always have a bottle of spray saline in arm's reach, because I really don't want to go to the emergency room for a nosebleed that will not end again.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh Dana, that sounds - as Emmett would say - "Undelightful."

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Germ-free hugs and hairpats to them as wants 'em.

I've been battling a stomach bug since last night, I think I'm on the upswing now because I don't have to scroll fast past food and beverage posts on Fb.

Shir, I'm so glad to see you.
