Timelies all!
In Things I learned Today that I Wish I Didn't Know, someone wrote a new set of lyrics to Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" about Xmas/Jesus' birth. I guess somebody actually listened to the original lyrics...
I will be so happy when the holiday is over and I don't have to hear any more Xmas songs.
Excellent news, shrift!
I want to hear everybody's good news as it arrives.
Well the day has slipped away from me. Well that's not really true. I did stuff. I just wanted to do more stuff.
Done:
Mac's driving test an hour away
Lunch with Parents and Mac to celebrate
Chiro appt
Massage
Grocery store
Shelter to get meds for Maxine (foster dog)
Still want to get done:
clear off kitchen counters
bake something
Christmas cards
Finish shopping or at least finalize a plan
Those are some pretty good accomplishments, msbelle!
Yeah, I'd say those are pretty good accomplishments!!
My plan for tonight: go to a friend's place for dinner and Christmas present exchange
My plan for tomorrow: go to Target to get my dad a present; go to Nordstrom Rack (??) to get my BIL some ties and socks? Maybe? Figure out what gift certificate to get for the 21 year old, and if there's anything I can get my mom.
From way back...
IO how the years go by N my mother has turned into the kind of old people who sends pears from Harry and David, and I have turned into the kind of middle-aged people who likes them.
I just bought a box a Trader Joe's for CJ. He was thrilled.
My news of the day, otherwise, sucks. My right foot has been bothering me, so I've been kinda limping which means my left hip and lower back are in constant pain. Finally had my appointment with my orthopedist. The guy who operated on my left foot about 4 years ago.
He took one look at the xray and said my right has the same issue my left had. Which means another surgery. Crap. I asked about scheduling it in early Jan so I'd be mobile by late January for Kelly's wedding. He said he would rather wait until after as I can't be "load bearing" for 6 weeks. Which means I can't do it until mid-February cause I'm going to (limp around) Vegas for my birthday.
This is going to be worse than the left foot - I won't be able to drive until I'm out of the boot. I don't have a downstairs bedroom or full bath, so I'll have to come up with a plan for where I'll convalesce. Plus I'll need to find a dog walker for Crowley. Never mind having to take even more time off during the first quarter after the merger.
I am so bone weary but I have so much to do, for work, for school, for Christmas. Oh crap - that is going to mess with school too. Ugh. Bright side??? I guess having more time to come up with a recovery plan.
Sorry to whine. I'm glad to have a plan to heal my foot, but that doesn't mean I like the plan.
Ugh that sucks, Suzi. I'm not sure if you're in her service area but I know an awesome dog walker in CO. She probably could get you a, solid recommendation even if she wouldn't be able to walk your pup herself. Let me know and I can connect you 2.
Today was absolutely insane & was my last day until 2018. I'm still going to be putting in a couple more hours tonight & tomorrow & do all the shit I need to before I leave Friday. Cleaning & packing& last minute gifts. Speaking of which, this load of laundry is done washing.
