And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

For some reason management keeps vetoing my idea of raising tech support morale by having a monthly lottery where the winner can go slap a developer upside the head.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

if I could make this sort of money & benefits outside of the industry

I've reached the point where I'd rather get free and then panic about money instead.

I can't really get behind that idea.

I can't really get behind that idea.

Everybody in my department loves it.

Change it to architects, and I'd be super for that.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I'm in. Let's add in PMs too.

(Not you, Gud. #notalldevelopers)

I am feeling pretty smug. In the past 24 hours, I made it through the MRI (with a Xanax, a larger machine, and a couple of mantras including "Fuck Trump"), got confirmation that my brain is normal, and called to deal with my FSA about lingering confusion from surgery charges. I am the best adult.

Dana, I admire your adulting. That is some Grade A work right there. I managed not to puke on my dentist yesterday, so I've got that going for me, which is nice. It was past time for my 6 month cleaning and I wanted to spend some remaining FSA money on a night guard. My sister made me realize I might have some TMJ going on.

I'm seeing a lot of memes where someone's holding their hand in what I learned as the OK symbol, thumb and forefinger touching, rest of hte fingers spread out. So what's it mean now?

edit: Is this a throwback to something I vaguely noticed in the 70s, when I was very naive, where it had something to do with sex?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Way to go Dana! And shrift!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

That depends on who is doing it. The nazi-bros have turned it into a thing, but I know people who've done it as a "made-you-look" thing for years.
