"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

From what I've been reading, Moore can sue for a recount with the current numbers, but if it's granted it's on his own dime. I'm torn between wanting it to happen so he can lose again, bleed his campaign coffers dry, & keep Republicans justifying support of a sexual predator in front of the national news, and being worried the "good ol' boy" network would manage to find another 30,000 Moore votes once it knows that's the target number.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

AL SOS said there'd be no recount. And he's a sumbitch that wanted Moore to win. I think it's over for Roy Moore.

Roy Less.

Roy Fewer?

Matt, thanks for taking care of the injured kitty. I'm glad he let you! Will he be put up for adoption after surgery, or go back to his feral ways?

I'm aiming for adoption; probably keeping him boarded with the vet until he's well enough to be an appealing candidate. I don't want to put him back in the same situation he was injured in, since I'm worried his own clumsiness or lack of fear regarding cars may have caused it. Plus, he's so friendly and non-aggressive he'll make an excellent pet for someone.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yay, Doug Jones, the new US Senator from Alabama! Never thought I'd be able to type that.

Also, I hate recipe blogger websites. So much.

Lordy, yes. I'm not here to read about your delightful afternoon in the garden with your adorable moppets—certainly not for 8 paragraphs. Just tell me how much cinnamon I need in the blasted cookies.

I put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving. It's very much a self-care thing for me, combining light, color, and the ability to pick ornaments with good associations to look at for a dark month. It's kind of like exercise—a nuisance at the time, but with long-term benefits. Except that I only have to put the tree up once a year. If I could exercise once a year and get five solid weeks of upside, I'd be much more likely to do it.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, what a beautiful morning! When I gave up and went to bed last night the ass hadn't conceded yet.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I used to do freelance copyediting for recipe bloggers. I thought it was so weird they had to tell a little story before they gave the dang recipe.

I've never put up a tree before, but I think I will this year. it's strange to feel the slightest bit creative again.

A lot of them, or at least the one's I go back to, include a click-to-recipe link. It's a beautiful thing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In my childhood, this would have been the first week we'd consider putting the tree up (depending on party schedule and how weekends fall), because we always kept it up at least through Epiphany.

I have been in the office too long already, have had conversations about two different issues and written evaluations of at least five job candidates. Too bad none of those were my TOP THREE MUST DO ASAP items.
