That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

They passed the tax bill. All the billionaires are happy.

Our wings are not tired.

-t, that is perfectly civilized as long as you are using a utensil of some sort to get the PB out of the jar.

There can be exceptions to this rule. Like if you happened to watch the news.

Well, they passed the plunder us all to feed the wealthy bill, but it does still have to be reconciled and voted on again. I wish I was a phone person. Back to faxing. I have a world of love and respect for the incredibly brave and determined activists showing up to hearings and town halls. They have made a difference, but so much damage has been done. It is hard to weep for any individual loss when the list is so long. I appreciate that Mueller has to take the time to make an airtight case and include all the culprits, but so much damage is irreversible.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Went to a local bookstore's warehouse sale with my mom, and we each walked away with a big bag of books for $60! Especially good since my family is just giving books this year.

And don't tell anyone, but my plan is no books by white men.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Distracting myself from the news this morning so I don't have a rage blackout.

Successful distractions so far:

1) Shirred eggs over sauteed mushrooms and hash browns;

2) Observing the Guinea Pigs loaf about;

3) Coffee;

4) More coffee;

5) Lots of music played loudly. Currently on Belle and Sebastian binge.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got LDB'ed on Thursday, so I didn't even make it to December. Of course, when the lab is playing an all X-mas music station/channel, it was going to happen sooner or later.

Went out to lunch, then Gary and Mr. S got haircuts.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Pier 1 just LDB'ed me.

Kelly and I are puttering around today, we have massages in about an hour, and other self care indulgences.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I found myself impotently furious at the news, so after contacting my senators with "shame on you" emails, I decided to spend the day in a frenzy of consumerism. Now 90+% of my Christmas shopping is done, as well as acquiring a lot of the raw goods for my holiday baking. I did not do any of my frenzied consumer activity in a liquor store (yet), which is more restraint than I can put into words.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Impressive channeling, Calli!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

The sushi restaurant was playing Christmas carols sung by a mediocre children's chorus, and I was sure I would lose the LDB game. Instead, I had to listen to 12 Days of Christmas.

They did have a few of the less common carols, like The Holly and the Ivy.
