I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Deep soothing breaths, everyone. As Bob Marley said, every little thing's gonna be all right.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Family ~ ma to Suzi and Laura, stress ~ ma to ND and whomever else needs it.

Monsooning rain today--so...nap-inducing. Must.stay.awake.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

~ma for everyone

2 hours is more than enough work time imnsho

First day of the outlet sale was really slow the first couple of hours because the coupons said we were open daily 10-6 tho we actually opened at 7:30. We'll, a few people got a pleasantly uncrwosed shopping experience. Since 10 it got so busy that I had a hard time getting away from my register for lunch! Which is good, I guess, we need the revenue.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Is today especially horrible, or am I just oversensitive? Or over-sensitized?

Nope, Dana, today is actually horrible. Sorry. The whole week, in fact, fucking sucks.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

For what it's worth, this video (23 seconds) makes me smile.

edited to add:

Or how about a New Zealand police recruitment video?

Because books.

Today is definitely horrible.

I'm beginning to be afraid of what 2018 will bring. And I'm not sure I can be this angry and depressed for another year.

I had a late lunch with my mom and now I am home with one cat on my chest and another on my ankle and no idea what is actually happening in the world, so my day is not so bad.

I saw a raccoon the next block over the other morning and as my car drew close it dove into a storm drain, which had me a little worried for its well-being. I hope it knows what it's doing and Toddson's video is kind of reassuring on that point.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I am laughing at a co-worker repeatedly stopping by my desk to complain about how much she has to get done over the weekend, yet turning down my offers to come in and lend a helping hand. So she doesn't want to actually get things done faster, she just wants credit for being a martyr. Perhaps I should have offered to bring kindling for her pyre instead?
