That is AWESOME.
Glad you're home, Laura. Sounds like a night to order in and relax.
I planned to get things done today but every time I sit down a cat jumps on me. Bathroom and kitchen are clean. I don't think cleaning out the storage locker will happen, but I really do need to vacuum the furniture and at least swiffer the floors.
Timelies all!
After dinner, Gary is going to take Mr. S trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Mr. S will be in a monkey costume. Truth in advertising...
We've had our six trick-or-treaters, and I'll be surprised if we get any more.
We had a group of 8 (no Wonder Womans, but 1 Kylo Ren), and we have to leave in less than half an hour for a concert, so we may have a ton of candy left (oh dang).
There are a billion kids this year. They had a big thing at the park in front of my house so most of those kids came by, and now the hoards of other kids. We always get a lot. Fortunately Bobby & Tate are dealing with them since they seem way too fussy and demanding to me in my tired grumpy state.
I did make a superb stir fried rice with roasted brussels sprouts, baby corns, and a super tasty peanut sauce. Also salad with berries and walnuts. Cooking soothes me. The family appreciates that for sure.
Oh, before I forget--
Happy Anniversary, Jilli and Pete!
I'm sorry to hear about Strega.
I may have overbought by just a wee tiny bit. But I asked my awesome neighbor, and she said on a warm night, they get over 200! So I panicked a little.
It's not a warm night, but it's not freezing, either, and I've had 7, I think. But that's only the first half hour. I'm glad I'm out, though, the immediate neighbors, maybe 9 houses, are totally blacked out! The one guy across the street even blocked off his driveway with caution tape! But he runs an auto repair business out of there, so I can see why he might not want kiddoes tromping around. There's one house two houses away from me in each direction participating, so it feels important that I'm here to have the street seem full for the kids. I guess I should have realized because basically no one decorated in the neighborhood.
Anyway, I'm happy to be doing it, and I've got a power cable run out here, so I'm doing work and I'm getting paid and the kids are cute and having fun.
