Our wings are not tired.

Nice, Zen! It is wonderful that you were able to help her make some progress.

Hoping I can actually depart tomorrow and get back to Florida. Sitting here in sweats, and a jacket, with a blanket over me. Dang newfangled computer monitor doesn't even give off heat. The space heaters will do their thing soon enough, but mornings are chilly. DH has gone to town and is bringing me back warm breakfast treats.

The construction dudes are outside working finishing up assembling and painting new screens for my windows. It is still in the 30s! Mountain men with thicker blood than me. (I expect them to point and laugh at me when they see me bundled up inside through said windows)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

GNC actually carries it, sj, it just means I have yo make a special trip just for that instead of remembering I am low when I'm at Target. Or take two pills on even numbered days and three on odd, which I assume works out the same over time....

Sigh, my Joss Whedon is My Master shirt floated to the top of the laundry pile. Forgot all about that; it's pretty disturbing now.

You are a delicate tropical flower, Laura. No shame in that.

Roofers are here. Thumping & banging has commenced. I hate watching people on ladders.

Yesterday was high 70's. This morning is gorgeous, but we are expecting snow this afternoon. I'll be shocked if anything sticks. But this means I'm expecting an air pressure change headache...wish there was a good way to proactively stop it from happening.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Guess I'm angling for some earworms because my brain did this:

For the first year in forever
There'll be music, there'll be light...

some brands of vitamins supposed to be better than others
Some girls' mothers are bigger than other girls' mothers...

dig herself out
Dig me out, dig me in, out of this mess, baby out of my head

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Former President George H.W. Bush has acknowledged touching multiple women inappropriately in what his spokesman called "patt[ing] women's rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner."

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MEN?

(Yes, gross generalization, etc., etc.)

Don't fucking touch people! Jesus fucking Christ!

I did have to go outside to give a judgement call for construction dudes and they mocked my mixed tropical and northern layers with good humor.

"patt[ing] women's rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner."

I promise to ask permission before I pat your rear. Because really even someone as huggy as me knows that ain't right.

Sad about Mark Halperin too, but hopeful that the more this is discussed openly that more men will get a clue.

I do feel a little weird about the "patting on the rear" thing. Not that George Bush should be doing it to anyone other than possibly Barbara!! But there are times and places where that sort of thing is culturally accepted without asking for and receiving consent (...granted, I'm mostly thinking of sports dudes patting each others' asses, and of gay men and I smacking each others' asses, and pretty much never "dude patting woman's rear who he doesn't know or has any power over"?)

It's entirely possible that I have smacked someone's ass who didn't want me to? But I have both smacked and been smacked as a greeting/gotcha/whatever this past weekend at my dance convention, and I can't think of any that bothered me on the receiving end. But again....gay men. Friends. Social activity that also involves a lot of touching. Clearly not the same as President Bush.

Our wings are not tired.

It really is one of those things that is hard to clearly define, except that you really should know when it is okay and when it is not! Just like sometimes a "Hey, baby" generates a smile and sometimes it makes your skin crawl.
