this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

No one ever accidentally puts my personal email address in as their own, but strangely it happens quite frequently with my fannish address. I just got confirmation of "my" pledge in the Doral Pebble Beach Fun Run.

I periodically get confirmation of someone's kids' dentist appointments. In Missouri. And I would unsubscribe, or at least reply and say "Hey, I am not the right person here, so your patients are not getting these reminders," but the emails are sent from a Do Not Reply address, and I'm not going to actually call some pediatric dental practice in Missouri because some parent thinks my email is theirs.

I also get notices about appointment for car maintenance in some other state. How many people think my email address is theirs, and WHY?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I finished reading the script. Waiting for shows to end.

I contacted my email doppleganger once when an additional address of hers was included in the recipient list. She was utterly dismissive so I am ruthless about blocking her mail. Committees she's on, stuff from her kids school, offers from her realtor... all get rules to delete immediately. Someday she'll stop using my address.

One show is getting close. Eddie Carbone! Eddie Carbone!

I miss the emails I got when my address was mistakenly added to an email chain for a bunch of bridesmaids in a very high-maintenance wedding party. It was like, that was a life I was living in a parallel universe where I know how to put on eye shadow and go to CrossFit.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My gmail address is also being used by some Saudi gal who signed up for a Twitter account in Arabic. I get all sorts of kooky wrong mail, but I can't even read it so I just delete

And I'm getting good feedback about today's talk, so that's nice

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's great, Burrell!

Went out with some of my old department after work. That was fun. Bittersweet, but fun.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That sounds very daunting, Burrell, but it also sounds like you crushed it.

On to the Deluxe Birthday Celebration!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yay Burrell!

I don't have an email doppelganger, but I think there is a film or venue production assistant person also named "Nadine"- I have gotten emails for movies I have kickstarted with action items. I think my email is just in the leaders gmail because of the kickstarter and they don't know many nadines. I am confused every time, because the things she is asked to do aren't outside the realm of things I do, but I am never in the right city. I think she worked on Veronica Mars and definitely on the documentary about Mildred and Richard Loving.

I think of her as if she were the person I would have been if I had actually moved to the big city after college and taken up my dreams, instead of being seduced by health insurance.
