A cortado is espresso with a shot of milk. Like a teeny little very strong latte.
My googling was telling me that the milk is steamed but not foamed,or maybe micro-foamed, whatever that means, as distinct from a macchiato (which I always think I like because I like the way the word sounds when what I actually like is espresso con panna (or affogato which is both fun to say and to eat/drink)) which one site mentioned as being basically a tiny latte, unless I read that all wrong which is always possible and also I don't care very much. Hopefully this information, accurate or not, will not shove something important out of my memory buffer.
I've been reluctant to try a macchiato, since I always conflate it with Ralph Macchio, or his works.
Timelies all!
We are heading to NYC tomorrow to see my brother and his family. Mr. S will get to meet the older two of his cousins. Ok, he's basically meeting all of them for the first time, since the last time we saw them was at his bris....
espresso con panna
Ooh, I had that once, and it was an excellent call. Everything should be con panna, imo.
Prediction: Maria and msbelle are gonna almost lose their voices and something will get knocked over from gesticulations. (I've seen them in action, people.)
Think I'm gonna pull an ac unit this weekend. But not the bedroom unit, just turned it back on. In October. Thinking of getting a skid on wheels so I can roll both units into the big closet. Gonna require some closet Tetris, but it'd be nice to not store them out in the open. And I'm not moving them to the basement ever again.
OMG- yet another tech where costumes and props (the women) are prepared, and lights, sound and video are literally writing every cue as if they have never talked to the director. And they probably haven't, as this director will not commit, but we sort of make him. The designer and I want to go back to a world where we don't have costumes until they are finished with lights and sound, like it was when I was in college, because here we are, all ready like good little girls and didn't even need extra time to get through the costume, and they spent 6 hours dicking aournd about the first 5 minutes of the show.
Sophia, in my world we can't start writing lighting cues until the start of tech. Sometimes that is 1-1.5 hours before actors hit the stage, but that is how it works. Sound and video should have files to work with but there is a lot that can't happen until it is in the space and in context.
Shrift and I are on a coach tour with friends. I'm sorry to miss you, Maria.
