The guy we hired to paint our house worked one day and then got in a car accident. He had a concussion (poor guy--he came by last week and still looked under the weather). He took two weeks to recover. He then called and said he was starting back this week, but hasn't shown up or answered any texts. We both feel bad for the guy, but I have been staying home waiting to let him in every day and J is getting mad at his unresponsiveness. We've paid him 2/3ds already.
I don't think he's trying to scam us, but it's frustrating not to know.
Ooh, scrappy, that's tough.
I was at dinner with two friends and the one friend's gf. And they were talking about how the one friend and her gf invited the other one to thanksgiving at her parents' house. And blah blah, can she bring her girlfriend (who wasn't there), etc etc. and I'm sitting there like "...wow, you didn't invite MEEE?!!?" Sigh.
Wake up Natter!
Also, ugh for New Orleans. Looks like it may get a visit from Hurricane Nate, or at least a bunch of nasty weather. While the current EPA is looking to repeal the Climate Change regs.
Paint~ma for the new house, Scrappy. Looking forward to pictures.
My never ending house painting project continues. We have today and tomorrow, then yuck weather hits. They have been working 4 weeks. Three men, DH and two contractors dudes that live across the road from me. It is all going to be worth it, but $$$.
I'm so glad that I took today off to pack, clean, and run an errand or two... even though I have been sending some last-minute work emails.
-t, do you have a sofa that is comfortable enough to sleep on?
Not really. But I have been thinking about rearranging the living room so I can throw an air mattress in there. Maybe this weekend.
Good job taking time off to pack, shrift! Now stop with the work emails.
I have a correction to make, I do NOT clock out for breaks. That was a different job. So that's nice. Took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to actually clock in this morning, but I think I have it now.

I have all my clothes in packing cubes! Now on to the toiletries and my carry on items.
Woo!
OMG this department is so far from being paperless it hurts a little bit. "You can print out the pdfs and scan them into one document" THAT CAN'T BE THE BEST WAY
OK, let's see if I can clock out for lunch. Every day is an adventure!
"You can print out the pdfs and scan them into one document"
Yeah, no. Even I know how to do that!
