Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much health~ma for your friend, Matt.

I seem to be coming out of an insomniac phase, which is nice. Now that it's in the 50s at night, I can leave the window partly open and snuggle down under multiple blankets and a cat. I do some of my best sleeping that way.

My department is undergoing a re-org. There seems to be a place for me in the new structure, but it's always nerve wracking waiting to see how these things pan out.

Apparently Tillerson called a press conference just to say he had no intention of leaving. Given the general level of honesty and consistency from this administration, I figure he'll be out by the end of the month.

Our wings are not tired.

Health~ma for your friend, Matt.

Tillerson gone would be nice, but Pruitt and DeVos are even worse. The competition for worst swamp scum in this administration is seriously tough.

There's probably a White House staffer with his personal belongings in a box waiting in the wings of the press conference.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Resolution~ma, msbelle!

Good luck with that, Jesse.

Good lord. I am now stamping paper invoices with a "received" stamp. I feel like I have gone back in time.

I should both be getting more sleep AND I feel like if only I didn't need to sleep I'd be able to get everything done. Though some of it is my own fault in going to bed but the mm suddenly realizing it's two hours later and I'm still reading/playing solitaire/on the internet.

That is a more accurate statement of my sleep problems as well. Although I can fall asleep way early with no problem, but I have to keep an ear cocked for the sound of a dog struggling and failing to stand up so I can go lift him. Two three times a night and it takes me a while to get back to sleep every time. If he would just agree to sleep in the hallway outside by bedroom instead of in the living room it would be a lot easier, I suspect, but he is one rule following dog and I don't give him enough so he makes up his own and I guess that is one: hallway during the day, living room at night.

Because books.

Oh, Walter. Bless his heart.

Also me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, so you aren't actually sleeping. I mean, right? If you feel like you can't ever go deep asleep, you must be really sleep deprived, actually!

Ugh. My throat is not actually sore, but my tonsils are crazy swollen to the point that I feel like I have a huge lump stuck in my throat that won't go away. Sadly, not strep (went to the urgent care hoping the big white bits on the tonsils meant antibiotics would cure it) so not a great excuse.
