You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

... and my backup drive with all my old tv and audiobook files on it has died. Damnit.

Do you think a computer shop could save my data if I brought it in with another drive to copy it onto?

Our wings are not tired.

I have been on news blackout, and expect to only watch CBS Sunday Morning for a while. I have HGTV buffering for when I want background tv.

I watched my ahemmed files of GBBO last night and expect to do so tonight. There's always X-Files.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Jury's been deliberating about 8 hours now in the local police stop murder trial (two blocks from my work.) We've done ok with this kind of thing in recent years - since the huge 2001 riots - but I wish this wasn't happening this week, of all weeks.

And I just read that some schools in the West End and Clifton are letting students out early today in anticipation of the verdict, while 2 schools on the West side (???) are considering releasing students early. They're all Catholic schools, which is odd. I'm wondering if the CPS superintendent is freaking out a little.

t edit Okay, the Enquirer said this about CPS: "Cincinnati Public Schools said in an statement Thursday that district officials are in 'constant communication' with the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), the Homeland Security Agency and Cincinnati police concerning the 'progress, timing and any issues that may arise as a result of the verdict.' "

I get the feeling everyone is expecting an acquittal.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Tom, have you tried the "beeb" Chrome extension that lets you run iPlayer?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Do you not like the guy from Psych? Because he's really funny in this.

Oh no, I like him fine, but the other guy is better-looking?

JESSE! This episode has Hugh Bonneville! Obviously you must watch it.

My prom date! OK, I will check it out some day. I'm currently feeling a little oppressed by the dozens of episodes of Buffy piling up on my DVR. I watched two last night, and man, Kendra's accent is even more comical than I remembered.

I'm going to the movies tomorrow, I'm seeing Arrival with amyth!!!

Jelly!

Marple, Poirot et al were all on ITV, though.

There was an earlier, 1980s Marple on the BBC.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Lovely, just got the price estimate for my carpal tunnel. $900+ dollars. As always, I'm hugely grateful we can afford it, and so angry thinking about the state of insurance in this fucking country.
