Suzi, it would be "In Little House on the Prairie (Wilder, 2017) blah blah blah happened." Or you could say, "In Little House on the Prairie, Wilder (2017) says blah blah blah..."

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Thanks. Should the book title be italicized? I can't find anything in my searching. I should really get a copy of the current APA guidelines, but I'm over half way done and lazy.
Titles of books, journals, etc should be italicized. Article titles should be in quotes.

Bookmarked and THANK YOU.
Two more paragraphs on one paper and then 10 sentences on the other. Ugh. I hate procrastinating but I'm so darned good at it.
I need some advice about cats. Mom's cat has developed a destructive habit of knocking things off flat surfaces when he wants to go out.
He does this when no one is home. It has just been stuff in mom's room that is non breakable getting knocked over but yesterday I found a broken mug I got for my birthday and a pottery my nephew made with a chunk out of the lid in my room.
I can't keep my door closed because Penny's litter box is in my room.
If we are in the living room he'll go and knock a remote control off a table instead of just going to the door.
I have no idea how to change this behavior. Anyone have any ideas?
I don't know a lot about cats. The few I have had in recent years were indoor/outdoor and we had a cat door for them. I never had more than one at a time.
I just caught up on xkcd and noticed that the next to last one is a Pern joke! My little adolescent heart is cackling with glee.
Cat door won't work because my cat is indoor with supervised outdoor time. And we have other small wild animals around.
Maybe the only solution is to kick the cat out when no one is home
Goals for the day: find a doctor (I don't currently have a GP) and make an appointment, and get rid of this migraine.

When Petri was knocking things over when he wanted to eat I tried to set a schedule and re-direct his focus. I set an alarm and when the alarm went off I would feed him. The challenge for me was that I had to follow through on the alarm even if I didn't have to be up yet. I knew it was working when I woke up one day to see him trying to intimidate the alarm clock with a vulture stare.
I have seen a locking cat door that would only open for the prox fob on the cat's collar. That may have been a DIY project though.
