Aww, David, that's a really nice sentiment.
I remember my 21st. I was working follow spot at the theater, so at the stroke of midnight, they made me a drink, on the clock, and then we went out after at about 3am for more. And then I worked my other day job at 7. Ah, youth.
The drinking age was 18 in Wisconsin when I turned 18. I didn't drink at all when I was in high school because I was alway the one driving. Didn't get drunk until I started college.
My 21st we were doing tech for a show so at midnight we ran to the nearby campus bar and I did a stoplight shot trio with two friends, then went back to the theater. The evening of my birthday we went to...TGIFridays maybe?? Someplace with kahlua mudslides but that my under 21 friends could also come with
OMG, my 21st birthday was a bar crawl in Harvard Square with two friends, one a bartender, one with a hollow leg. It did not end well for me.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Emmett!
Just got back from the Renaissance Faire. It was fun, we got to see the performers we wanted to see and ran into some friends. It was quite hot, though.
Happy zit day Emmett!!!&
Skipped like 1000 posts - cannot believe I haven't been here since before the eclipse.
I've just finished watching anot episode of Handmade in America which featured a millinery from Charleston SC who ,pages the kind of harps that get displayed in the Kentucky Derby Museum Last week they featured the Dehner Boot Company and they have featured amazing hand-tooled saddles it's on anew odd channel Inspiration (or something) and also features repeats of Walker? Texas Ranger which makes me think I probably shouldn't be supporting it - but Kentucky Derby Hats!!! Handmade riding boots!! Amazing hand tooled saddkes!!
Happy birthday Emmett!
18 was the drinking age for me in NY. By the time I was 21 I was living outside Philly with DH#1 in an apartment sleeping on the floor and eating with a cardboard box for a table. I remember clearly thinking that adulthood was not at all impressive. Of course we did have several hundred albums and lots of high end stereo equipment from working in radio. But no furniture.
Ugh, I was at uni for my 19th. Where people kept buying me random drinks all night. I was, at one point, literally sitting under the table at our school bar.
I think the drinking age was 18 when I came of age but I've never been much of a drinker or a socialiser
Random: fun Studio Gibli children's clothing .
I'm so sorry Epic
And -t, gah! Sounds like too much work stress, although I'm glad that there's a will-work-for-now option. Commute is not a small thing, but nicer location may work out.
Oh and I said it on FB but happy birthday, Emmett!
