This was at your work? Good on them for recognizing the feeling and trying to help employees deal with it.
Yep. They're pretty good employers on a lot of levels.

That sounds like a tough situation, Suzi. I hope K finds an OK way through it with her new family.
As always, loves everyone in this bar room.

I'm so ready for some whiskey. Work, school, family, puppy...I know I have it good, looking at life from a big picture perspective, but I'm exhausted and behind and trying to remain sane. Ugh...Calgon take me away.
Wild meara ahead? Yaaaas! I support that!!
Feel ok so far today. If it reoccurs this afternoon though, I'm going to have to look into a doctor appointment or something!
I'm irked my company website doesn't say anything about our Mexico location or how the employees are doing. One of them emailed me today all "hey, sorry, I've requested those things for you but it's a little crazy here" and I was like "oh shit that's right, y'all are in Mexico City!"
First half day of work has been... overwhelming. Just because of the sheer number of systems they use that i have to get set up on. An IT person asked me if I was set up for something and I couldn't remember!
But besides that, everyone is nice and the work looks interesting and the company is expanding rapidly (which is a good sign for my future there).
Was sad that I can't use a GUI for Postgres. I'm rusty on the command line usage of Postgres (one guy gave me a cheat sheet) and I'll have to relearn vim, which I haven't used in over 22 years.
So overall the job is... good.
Oh, man, meara. Yeah, you'd think there'd be a statement or something. Hopes and prayers at least.
Sounds exciting tommyrot! Hope the whelm settles down as you settle in.
I'm spending Rosh Hashanah cleaning out the garage - it needs doing and seems appropriately new-year-ish. Was taking a break on the patio, noticed the umbrella out there us full if holes. Perfect for Sukkot, I think to myself. Then I notice the wasp nest in an upper fold. Nope! Not perfect for anything!
Corporate overwatch strikes again. Web use on our computers has been locked down for years, but our company phones had no such restrictions. Workplace wireless is locked down to all but company electronics, so we all used work phones to do online stuff all day. As of today, YouTube does not work. That includes YouTube videos embedded in articles. We are now holding our breath to see if Facebook gets blocked.
