Good luck wishes to your dad, Matt. Recovery~ma to lisah's uncle. And I hope your first day is awesome, tommyrot--just a harbinger of the future.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Have you been out and about exploring the new terrain much?
I'm living in a suburb southwest of KC, so I've mostly been out shopping in the area. I bought a bed at Ikea--the first time I've owned a bed instead of a futon.
Mostly I've been trying to recover from the stress of packing and moving. Plus stress about the new job, but hopefully that'll go away once I actually start working.
Best wishes to your dad, Matt, and recovery~ma to lisah's uncle.
Thanks everyone. We're taking him out tonight for his "last meal," though my impression is that he will still be able to eat a meal the traditional way for special occasions.
Recovery~ma to your uncle, lisah!
Sounds very exciting tommyrot. Hope the new job and location suit you.
hivemind - I am looking for a Daveed Diggs interview or post where he talks about things existing as both good and bad at the same time. I think it started as reference to Thomas Jefferson, but he also talks about rap. I swear I have seen it and I cannot find it.

I know there was something like that in the documentary that aired on PBS last year.
That sounds right, somewhere near the end of the Hamildoc.
msbelle, it's #5 on this list: [link]
right, no way to link to the actual clip, it is behind the compass firewall on pbs. anyway my local NPR station had an interview with Margaret Biser today (this piece [link] and it reminded me of that clip.
Grr. Thought I was feeling better, but when I got off the couch to go walk down the street to the store, realized while I'm not as dizzy as yesterday I'm still a little weirdly out of it. Like, I feel as though if I move my eyes, or my head, my brain/vestibular system is a beat behind? It's weird.
