brillig

I think I have PTSD from moving.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So, leave early and drive eight hours straight with the kitty? Or find a motel that takes cats and do it over two days?

My ability to make decisions is sharply reduced.

Ok, I think I'll go for the Motel option.

It took me awhile to get over the PTSD from my last move 8 years ago.

This time I'm moving out of town and starting a new job.

On Tuesday evening they told me I needed to take a drug test on Wednesday. Of course I had an everything bagel with poppyseeds for breakfast Tuesday morning. So I mentioned that to the recruiting company, and now I think they're suspicious of me. Or I could just be paranoid. At least I can retake the test once I'm in KC, but googling says that one bagel would be unlikely to cause me to fail the drug screen.

Or maybe I'm just convinced something has to go wrong with this move and new job thing.

Our wings are not tired.

Depends on how you sleep in a motel. I would probably drive straight through and get it behind me.

That's crossed my mind too.

Originally they wanted me there by 3:30 or 4:00 Saturday so they could check me in to the new apartment, but today they told me if I arrive late they'll leave keys out for me. That way I could sleep later on Saturday.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, tommyrot, go you! Taking two days sounds like the smart move if you are already worn out from packing and making decisions and so forth.

It occurred to me just yesterday that it's kinda fucked up that I can say in all reasonableness "it's only $2000" about a potential loss of revenue due to a decision made in my work process and have everyone just nod like, yeah, that's not much when my paychecks are less than that.

Capitalism, man. How are we doing on getting rid of it?

Should I tip the movers?

Our wings are not tired.

I would. Amount varies on how much of a pain it is to move the stuff. Like sofa/bed up stairs vs boxes on level ground.

There are three of them. $40 that they can split?

I let Squeaky out of the bathroom. She's freaking about the empty apartment.
