Wash: Don't fall asleep now. Sleepiness is weakness of character. Ask anyone. You're acting captain. Know what happens you fall asleep now? Zoe: Jayne slits my throat, and takes over. Wash: That's right. Zoe: And we can't stop it.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I'm so glad everyone Buffista-adjacent in the path of Irma made it through OK.

Being very careful about where I spend my time online today. The fetishization of September 11th is out of control.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The fetishization of September 11th is out of control.

I just roll my eyes when ever somebody posts "Never Forget." Like that's a fucking possibility.

Don't worry, I won't. Kind of deeply burned into the psych.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm right there with you, Maria. Also avoiding the news stations.

Our wings are not tired.

I've been streaming the local tv stations from home, and it is all storm news. My idiot brother is moody and grumpy because he wants to go home and "we won't let him" despite the fact that all roads leading that way are closed! Guess he thinks they will make an exception for him.

Other than the sibling frustration all is well.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

How are you doing today, Tom?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Stupid question for the real adults in the room, from one who was raised by DIYers and has only ever done DIY and is so sick of DIY I could spit: how the hell do you save enough to pay for a remodel? Or do you finance it? HOW DOES ADULTING WORK???

How are you doing today, Tom?

Well, my analyst was away for a big chunk of August, and I'm just now getting back into the swing of things with him on my childhood/self-esteem/loneliness issues. My anxiety levels were already high enough that 9/11 isn't making much of an additional impact.

Uhm, thanks for asking?

Plei, do you have a financial advisor? Ours was the adult in the room who told us whether to use our money, his money, or someone else's money.

Financing remodeling: I thought that was what refinancing your house was for.
